Sports Relief 2012

posted 26 Jan 2012, 06:08 by Dolphin Swim School Stafford   [ updated 27 Jan 2012, 03:30 ]
On Saturday 17th March 2012 we will be hosting a fund raising event on behalf of Sports Relief, the event will run from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.  The cost of the Pool Hire is being met by Walton High School, as their contribution to the event.

Normally the Sports Relief Challenge is for the individual to run 1, 3 or 6 miles and raise money for the charity.  We will be looking to get as many of the children in the Swim School to take up the challenge of swimming as many lengths of the pool as they wish to/are able to.  Those who are not yet able to swim without aids will be able to partake using their aids, as well as having the support of our Aquatics Helpers in the pool with them.  We would like to see how far the cumulative total would get us?

I will be placing a list our Notice Board at the pool for all those who wish to sign up for the event.  Instead of raising sponsorship through the usual channels, and looking at some of our youngest swimmers at 2.5 years of age, I has been suggested that the participants pay so much per length that they complete (if they are able to raise sponsorship from friends and family so much the better, but it is not a necessity).
