Lesson Information

We utilise the National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) 2007, under the suspices of Swim England, to assist in the teaching of all swimmers and to improve the individual's ability. We are currently able to provide the following aspects of the plan during the course of our sessions:
  • Introduction Classes (Duckling Awards) - which have a specific emphasis on building Water Confidence (not swimming), through fun, games, and basic movements - for those aged from 2.5 years and up to 4 years of age (classes are currently Wednesday 5.30pm and Saturday at 9.00am
  • Stages 1 and 2 in Aquatics (Non-swimmers) - commencing for those aged 4 years old upwards, and are for Non-swimmers i.e. those who are unable to swim without aids or assistance
  • Stages 3 and 4 in Aquatics - are for Beginners who are able to swim without aids or assistance, but are looking to improve their basis technique
  • Stages 5, 6 & 7 in Aquatics - are for those who are looking to further improve their technique and also these classes include some aspects related to the other Aquatic Disciplines (Diving, Water Polo, Synchronised Swimming and Lifesaving)
  • Stages 8, 9 and 10 are in Competitive Swimming (in part currently on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday)
  • RLSS Rookie Lifeguard Awards - for those having achieved Stage 7 and a minimum of the 200m distance award and are on a Monday at 7.30pm
There are certain aspects of the NPTS that we would not be able to provide due to the limitations of the facility we hire (e.g. aspects of Diving, Mini Water Polo and Synchronised Swimming).

Eligibility and Pricing

We enrol children from the age of two and a half years (Introduction Classes - where children are in the water without a parent) to sixteen years. In general and wherever possible we operate with a maximum of ten (10) swimmers in a class, although can be flexible dependant on demand.

Our charges for the Sumer Term 2018 will be £65.40 for a 12 week term which will commence from Monday 16th April 2018.  This equates to five pounds and forty-five pence (£5.45) per 30 minute lesson.  Our charges are dependant on what we are charged for the hire (increased by the High School an average 7.1% for this term) of the facility and other costs, such as wages, insurances and VAT, incurred.

We are be able to offer, for those that wish to, payment for the term by PayPal.  However, please note that should you wish to avail yourself of this method of payment you will be liable for the increased charges, a fixed fee of 3.4% of the total plus £0.20, incurred by the Swim School for the use of this service, and payment will be due at the normal time to ensure your place(s).
