Our Staff

All of my current Teaching Staff hold an Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) Swimming Teacher Qualification, or the ASA/UKCC (United Kingdom Coaching Certificate) for Teaching Aquatics.  They also hold, where appropriate, qualifications for the teaching of the Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS) Rookie Lifeguard Award. Personal individual insurance is provided through their compulsory membership of the Institute of Swimming (IoS) the ASA/Swim England professional body.

I require them to also attended the Safeguarding & Protecting Children Course, which is sport specific, and each has a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS). Each teacher also holds a minimum of the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (a Lifesaving award) as provided by the RLSS.

Many of our teachers also hold extra qualifications in teaching those with Special Needs - Cognitive, Physical and Educational.

Many of our junior staff, particularly those employed in the role of Swimming Helper, learnt to swim at our Swim School and have never left us.  We encourage those who wish to, to attain their Teaching Qualifications at the appropriate time (there are age restrictions).  We assist them with financial support, in gaining, maintaining and improving on, their qualifications.  Swimming is one of the, if not the most, expensive sports in which to gain a recognised qualification.
